|   |  | My first encounter with Ashley was unexpected. I was out with some friends at a Fargo Force game and my friend said he wanted to go pick up this girl from another bar. We had a full car already, so we showed up after the game, and this woman squeezed in with three of us in the back seat. We made are venture downtown to Dempsey’s bar. From there I sparked conversations with Ashley and got to know about her more. I learned that that night she had broken up with her long time partner of almost 3 years. And a month prior from that time, I had gone through a break up as well. We hit it off with great conversation, but the night was ending and I knew I had to at least try to reconnect with this woman because I really liked her personality, and she was (still is) so beautiful! I wrote my phone number down on a receipt and gave it to her. We all got a taxi and I sat in the back with her. Funny thing is we both looked at each other and kissed! Well she ended up going home and apparently ripping up my phone number. Luckily I found her on Facebook and messaged her. She deleted that as well. But later on that day I got a reply from her asking what I sent. And from there are conversations flourished into something beautiful. Our first date was at Woodys! (Very classy Shane) We played pool and watched the Wild play on TV, the date went great! |
 |  | I met Shane the night I broke up with my boyfriend. I was swearing off all men and having a fun night out. We headed to see a band at Dempsey’s. Shane started a nice conversation with me and he seemed like a very sweet guy. I still was not in the mood to entertain the idea of dating, so when he gave me his number, I ripped it up later that evening. He was on my mind the next day, but I was adamant I had done the right thing. I carried on with my day when I received a Facebook message from him! I didn’t open it and quickly deleted it. I don’t recall how long I waited but my curiosity got the better of me. I messaged him back asking what he said. That was the beginning of a month long dialogue before our first date. During that month, I had mentioned we could be friends like in the movie When Harry Met Sally! Shane’s personality shined when he was so patient. He made me laugh and smile every time we talked. We finally had our first date a month after our first meeting. On that date, It felt so natural and easy. It seemed like we had already known each other for a long time. And the rest is history! |
